With Opening Day around Major League Baseball, the Twins had to finalize their 30-man roster. Eventually these will be trimmed again but for the start of the season, this meets the roster limit and deadline. (As of this writing, there are still rumors swirling on expanding the 2020 postseason to include more teams, and the Toronto Blue Jays still don’t have a location for their home games! Ah, deadlines.)

Note: The plan is to send you member-only 5 Thoughts columns each Monday. Lighter posts, like this one, probably won’t follow a particular schedule.

Here’s a quick run down of the full Twins roster and some bonus thoughts.

Catchers:

Mitch Garver
Alex Avila
Willians Astudillo — Injured List (illness)
