1) Twins draft two talented high schoolers

The Twins had two picks on Day 1 of the draft Sunday, which included the first round and competitive balance round. Days before the draft Twins Scouting Director Sean Johnson spoke extremely highly of the depth of college pitchers available in this year’s draft. So, naturally the Twins drafted a couple preps.

No. 26 overall, Chase Petty. He’s a right-handed flamethrower who reportedly has cleared 100 mph on the radar gun, is in contact with fellow New Jersey native Mike Trout.
